World Changers – Social Good Summit NYC

Mashable, an organization that reports on the importance of digital innovation and how it empowers and inspires people around the world, hosts the Social Good Summit during UN Week each year in New York City.

September 22-24, 2012, I was honored to be invited as a guest, along with fellow United Nations FoundationShot@Life Champions, and Mocha Moms. From the moment I arrived, the momentum was going and the excitement of the 3-day event was in the air! We were given VIP access to Digital Media Lounge in order to stay connected virtually as we shared the messages from guests during the summit via social media.

Each speaker’s message served to unite people from around the world through the power of social media and technology to solve world issues. Community and global leaders discussed ideas including using technology to solve challenges, effective US and other programs used to make global change and much more. Speakers included world leaders (including prime ministers), a welcome message from Hilary Clinton, Deepak Chopra, President of Nike, Save the Children, UNICEF, actors Forest Whitaker and America Ferrera, Olympic Medalist Allyson Felix, media (Time Magazine, NY Times, Martha Stewart Living, PBS) and lots more. Check out the agenda.

Transmitted in 6 different languages and streamed live around the world, this amazing experience can best be described as a room filled with WORLD CHANGERS who were hungry to learn new ways of improving the quality of life for women, children, and families everywhere!

Shot@Life also announced the official launch of the NEW Mobile App during the summit, just one day after the Official Launch Party.
