It was at the Lion King 3D Premiere Cast After-Party that I realized how many more celebrities we had just shared the theater with. After the movie, we were whisked off to the Hollywood and Highland Center Ballroom, which sits directly across the street from the El Capital Theater. The ballroom is situated between the “crown jewel” of Hollywood, the Kodak Theater, home of the Academy Awards, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Talk about star-power!
Once again Disney did not disappoint! With our All Access VIP Guest Badges, other bloggers and I were given FULL ACCESS to enjoy the Cast Party. We entered a beautiful oasis of the ballroom decorated to replicate the Lion King experience. Gorgeous sofas, an African band playing sounds that touched the soul, games, crafts, caricature and photo booths, and the amazing cuisine catered by Emmy Award Winning Chef to the Stars and Restaurateur, Wolfgang Puck!
The highlight of the party was getting to meet child and adult actors from Disney Shows such as Pair of Kings, A.N.T. Farm, and Wizards of Waverly Place. Pair of Kings Actor, Geno Segers, was extremely gracious and friendly, agreeing to pose for photos and stopping for conversation with guests.
I spotted a few other stars including Shaunie O’Neal, Executive Producer and Developer of VH-1’s Reality Show Basketball Wives, and ex-wife of NBA Star Shaquille O’Neal. Shaunie attended the premiere with her adorable daughter.
Melissa Joan Hart, attended with her husband and boys. Melissa is best known for her role in Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Even “Benson.” Yes, Robert Guillaume, was there! Mr. Guillaume played the voice of “Rafiki” in the original Lion King movie. He speaks about his experience in this interview. He is such as sweet man. From his wheelchair and with a huge smile on his face, he took pictures, signed autographs and chatting with guests.
Ricky Shroder, the 1980’s Silver Spoons actor also enjoyed the Cast Party. Many of the moms from my group were elated to see him!
I indulged in all of the fun festivities the Cast Party had to offer. My blogger friend, Christine of IEMommy, Evelyn of Bizan PR and I made necklaces and bracelets to take home to our little ones! Other blogger buddies and I played games and won prizes like the crazy hats that Blogger Lori of WellConnectedMom insisted we wear for pictures.
The Cast Party was a star-studded, FANTASTIC TIME in true Disney style. STAY TUNED for more Behind the Scenes details of my Disney Blogger Weekend!
**Disney provided an all expense paid three-day experience. All opinions are my own.
